In an effort to continue our education and unlearning journey, we have subscribed to the First Name Basis Patreon. Hosted by Jasmine Bradshaw, First Name Basis is creating a community of parents who value inclusion and justice through race, religion, and culture. We have also chosen to give part of our time, efforts and donations to the Mother Child House. This is a resource for young mothers and mothers to be who are experiencing homelessness. Once a month we visit the families and host a play date similar to our park play. We read a book, sing a song, and play! We are also available to answer any questions from these new mothers about their child’s social and emotional development. In addition, anytime we hold a Pay What You Wish class, these funds go towards creating care baskets for new residents. You can find out more about the Mother Child House here.
