Spring Ready

Hello! We are so glad you’re here today.
Here comes the sun (can we say that yet?) I want to say it. Well, it’s March and we are gearing up to be back on your schedule! We are very excited to be back in the park for our baby and toddler group, as well as story time at the coffee shop. Will you be joining us? Be sure to check out our calendar. In the meantime, here are some ways we have been welcoming the season:

Were you one of the lucky ones that snagged our March sensory bin? If you missed it or need more of it, here is the super simple recipe for our rainbow rice:

Rainbow Rice Recipe
What you need:
gallon size ziplock bags
food dye (we love the neon colors, and the original liquid, not gel)
1 cup of white rice per color
white vinegar (not necessary)

In a ziplock bag place 1 cup of rice, 1/4 teaspoon of vinegar, and 10-20 drops of food coloring (I honestly just squeeze a whole bunch in, back and forth about 3-4 times). Seal bag then squish and squeeze until the color is distributed among the rice, this is a fun part for your littles to help with! Then, pour the dyed rice out onto a baking sheet. Toss with a spoon every 15 minutes or so and it should be dry within 2 hours. I can fit two heaps of colors on a baking sheet, just making sure to toss the rice so the underneath gets dry.

Awaken your child to the sights, sounds, and feels of spring with Bear and Mole. Check your local library or purchase it from our Bookshop.

The song we’re singing in our sleep:
Five green and speckled frogs sat on a speckled log
Eating the most delicious bugs, Yum Yum!
One jumped into the pool, where it was nice and cool
Now there are four green speckled frogs, Ribbit-Ribbit!

Four green and speckled frogs sat on a speckled log
Eating the most delicious bugs, Yum Yum!
One jumped into the pool, where it was nice and cool
Now there are three green speckled frogs, Ribbit-Ribbit!

Continue until….

“Now there are no green speckled frogs, Ssshhhhhhh”
