10 Things to do this Fall
While this year the pumpkin patch may still be daunting, we encourage you to create family memories, safely, despite COVID-19, and we have ideas on how you can do just that. However you plan to enjoy autumn, know that your child will be happy just spending time with you. As we've mentioned before, you are your child's favorite everything, no matter where you go or what activity you do, he is enjoying every minute because he is with you. Explore the season, make connections, and start or create family traditions!
1. Carve pumpkins and show them off to family members via a Zoom Carving Contest where everyone votes on their favorite. Winner gets bragging rights, or a small gift Amazoned from everyone else! If you are unable to go on a tractor ride, you can pick up pumpkins from the grocery store and place them in your backyard for an "at home" pumpkin patch.
2. Pick up a bag of apples and bake a pie from scratch.
3. Visit a farm with a farm book and compare the animals. If you can't go into the actual farm, you can pull your car up to the fence and view the animals from the road.
4. Find leaves and press them in a book or glue them to a wreath.
5. Allow young toddlers and babies to spend time crunching leaves.
6. Finger paint with pumpkin puree or applesauce.
7. Go on a flashlight walk as the moon comes out earlier.
8. Make pine cone bird feeders.
9. Paint pumpkins socially distant with neighbors in driveways.
10. Do the Monster Mash!
